Although it sometimes feels like all I talk about on the blog are clothes and pasta, when I heard that my favourite Italian deli in London, Lina Stores, was opening a restaurant on Greek Street- I felt almost competitive with how quickly I could squeeze a visit in and sample their menu.
So, when Rachael and I organised a long overdue get together, I knew just the place to suggest. Having visited their Brewer Street deli since I was interning (goodness knows how I justified lunch there everyday, but once you try their rosemary foccacia and Baci brownies it’s hard to go back)- I was so excited to hear they’d finally opened a restaurant on neighbouring Greek Street, one of my favourite parts of Soho.
And it was every bit as gorgeous as I’d hoped. Completely in line with their iconic deli, the mint hued tiled exterior and open kitchen inside felt just as homely and family orientated as you’d imagine. With all of their pasta completely homemade, and with a menu boasting everything from antipasti, sharing plates, traditional cocktails (Negroni and Limoncello Spritz a-plenty) and gorgeous deserts- we tucked into their aubergine polpette, ‘Nduja con Ricotta and plates of their pici alla norcina and spaghetti with fresh crab and chilli- all of which were unsurprisingly delicious (so much so I’m already planning a return visit with Joe)!
Plus, good news! They now take bookings for lunch (!) and early dinner and have a text-back dinner service too, so if there is a queue, you can wander for a drink and then know they’ll let you know when they have a seat for you. D-reamy.
