How to Condition and Style Your Hair for the Summer

The tough part of keeping silver hair silver, is ensuring that the colour stays vibrant, glossy and the right undertone of grey as long as possible. I personally have dry hair due to the bleach, which can sometimes be frustrating when you are craving glossy, goddess esque locks but it can also be great for maintaining your preferred shade. When I leave the capable hands of Amy Fish at the Larry King Salon in London (she uses Redken custom colour to achieve my shade) I am fortunate that I only have to think about washing my more dry hair, every 4-5 days or so. When it does get to dreaded hair washing day, there are a few trusted products that are permanent fixtures in not only my shower at home but in my suitcase too.

L’Oreal Low Shampoo – Surprise surprise, my holy grail! If like me you have coloured, treated hair and especially if it becomes dry after styling, you NEED this in your life, it’s as simple as that. Low shampoo is low sulphate, doesn’t foam, conditions while it cleanses and removes impurities, all while ensuring no product build up in your hair.

Redken Extreme Megamask – The ultimate hair mask if your hair needs a little extra love and care, especially if it’s feeling brittle and needing some extra moisture after colouring. The two different solutions combine together to create a hair mask that strengthens, conditions and completely brings my hair back to life, a must after long haul flights.

L’Oreal Professional Silver Shampoo – If you’ve ever wondered how I bring my colour back weeks post colour, this is how. I have tried so many silver shampoos created to neutralise yellow and brassy tones, but this is by far the best out there. If you have bleached hair that begins to show brassy highlights after UV damage and everyday pollution, then this is the product for you.

L’Oreal Extraordinary Oil – I have always been a fan of using a hair oil, especially towards the ends of my hair and my current favourite is the extraordinary oil formulated for coloured hair. I love how lightweight this oil is and how well it smooths and detangles. I use this both on my wet ends to protect and on a new blow dry to stray tame hairs and add shine.
