SMUG is very well-loved amongst us Londoners with a love for design and house plants – and it’s for that reason that it’s taken me this long to write about it here on the blog. Sometimes I think “oh, but that’s so obvious – EVERYONE knows about it already” when it comes to posting recommendations for places in my own city, but more often than these posts aren’t for the Londoners, but for those of you looking to visit. If you’re one of those people, this is why SMUG should be on your list!
Run by the very talented Lizzie Evans, SMUG has been a Camden Passage staple since 2009. Here you’ll find two floors of homeware, design items, stationery, plants and accessories – the kind of bits and bobs you might not need but want to fill your house with. It’s the perfect place to pick up a gift (which I’ve done on a number of occasions) or find that finishing touch for your shelves at home.
The store also hosts events upstairs on it’s first floor – so do keep an eye on what’s on if you’re planning on visiting.
Not one to do things by halves, Lizzie has her fingers in many pies, so as well as running the store she also hosts her own podcast, How to Curate Your Life, for creative entrepreneurs, so you can be a part of the SMUG world without even having to step foot in London.
But if you do happen to be in London, Camden Passage makes for a lovely afternoon of shopping and food – put SMUG on the top of your list!
