It’s taken me a long time to get on board with the blazer trend. I’m not sure why. Perhaps it’s because it’s reminiscent of the ’80s, and I wasn’t sure I needed shoulder pads in my life. Turns out, I do. After trying this brown-hued number from & Other Stories I’m firmly on the wagon. Perhaps I don’t mind ’80s inspired fashion after all.
Miguel still told me I looked like Tony Soprano, which he can’t help whenever I’m wearing my Gucci-inspired loafers. Of course, Tony would be wearing the real thing. I couldn’t commit because I thought at the peak of their popularity that it wouldn’t be long before they were passé, and spending £500+ on such a trend-led item just didn’t feel right. Do I regret it? Kind of. A good pair of loafers will always come in handy. But for now, these Topshop ones are still holding out!
I always feel a little more badass when I’m wearing a pair of sunglasses. Not quite mob boss, but just bit cooler. Although I need to be in the habit of keeping cheaper pairs to hand because I’m a serial loser when it comes to designer sunnies. I almost want to shed a tear just thinking about the pairs that must have got left on the bus or at restaurants over the years, so for now I’m sticking to Zara, until I feel I can be trusted again!
